Interpersonal Mediation

This involves taking a constructive approach to resolving disputes between individuals who have a personal connection.

It involves focusing on long-term outcomes rather than legal outcomes.

Interpersonal mediation is often used:-

  • Co-parenting disputes
  • Elder issues
  • Neighbour/ Community disagreements
  • General communication issues

Mediators do not give legal advice. The mediator will not suggest possible solutions or advise you on whether any proposed solution is in your interests or not. The mediator will remain completely impartial.

Civil/ Commerical Mediation

This usually involves parties that seek to attempt to resolve matters as an alternative to the Court or Tribunal process.

Civil/ Commercial mediation is often used:-

  • Business disputes
  • Contractual disputes
  • Employment disputes

Workplace Mediation

Workplace mediation is generally used prior to a formal grievance procedure. The focus is that parties are heard, and on rebuilding working relationships.

  • Gripes
  • Employee reference
  • Employee v Employer conflict
  • Discrimination
